Mercy in Action
MERCY IN ACTION (MIA) is a group that educates our parish on life issues. We promote living out the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. Our activities include:
- Respect Life Education Weekend in the fall
- Postcard mailings to our elected representatives
- Parish & School Spiritual Adoption program
- Pro-Life Lenten Stations of the Cross
- Prayer in front of Planned Parenthood clinics asking for God’s healing and mercy for the women going there
- Attending the March for Life each January in Washington, D.C.
- Setting up our Giving Tree at Christmas
- Collecting baby items for Crisis Pregnancy Centers (via Giving Tree)
- Collecting toys for St Vincent DePaul (via Giving Tree)
- Organizing Movie Nights and Speaker Presentations
- Purchasing Catholic books to give out at Easter and Christmas
- Giving out Rosaries in May and October
- Working in St Isadore’s garden
- Promoting and leading consecrations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart
- Promoting the Divine Mercy Novena and Divine Mercy Sunday
- Collecting Bibles and clothing for the incarcerated
- Working with Legion of Mary on various needs including collecting toiletry items for the homeless
- Attending funeral Mass and praying the Chaplet for the dying in our parish
- Helping with grounds cleanup
- Whenever we are asked to help!
