Mercy in Action

MERCY IN ACTION (MIA) is a group that educates our parish on life issues. We promote living out the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. Our activities include:

  • Respect Life Education Weekend in the fall
  • Postcard mailings to our elected representatives
  • Parish & School Spiritual Adoption program
  • Pro-Life Lenten Stations of the Cross
  • Prayer in front of Planned Parenthood clinics asking for God’s healing and mercy for the women going there
  • Attending the March for Life each January in Washington, D.C.
  • Setting up our Giving Tree at Christmas
  • Collecting baby items for Crisis Pregnancy Centers (via Giving Tree)
  • Collecting toys for St Vincent DePaul (via Giving Tree)
  • Organizing Movie Nights and Speaker Presentations
  • Purchasing Catholic books to give out at Easter and Christmas
  • Giving out Rosaries in May and October
  • Working in St Isadore’s garden
  • Promoting and leading consecrations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart
  • Promoting the Divine Mercy Novena and Divine Mercy Sunday
  • Collecting Bibles and clothing for the incarcerated
  • Working with Legion of Mary on various needs including collecting toiletry items for the homeless
  • Attending funeral Mass and praying the Chaplet for the dying in our parish
  • Helping with grounds cleanup
  • Whenever we are asked to help!
